The MSFF aims to support dynamic charities and social enterprises that can see and build a path to positive social and environmental change.
Hani Farsi created the MSFF to honour the work and charitable commitments of his father, Dr. Mohamed S. Farsi.
Since the Foundation’s launch, Hani and his fellow Trustees have been committed to funding dynamic and effective charities and social enterprises around the world. Every organisation the Foundation supports works in at least one of our strategic focus areas: healthcare, education, international development, and arts & culture.
The MSFF is funded by a portion of the profits of Hani Farsi’s personal and business investments, all of which operate on benevolent entrepreneurial principles. The Foundation has a strict policy of inclusiveness and does not fund organisations that discriminate in any manner.
This website is dedicated to the life, work and values of Dr. Mohamed S. Farsi, after whom the foundation is named. Through his remarkable spirit he embodies the mission and the philosophy of the MSFF.
Dr. Farsi, aware of his many advantages and opportunities, committed his life to giving back. He is a visionary philanthropist and role model who inspired the creation of the MSFF. It is in his spirit that we continue to strive for a world of equal opportunity and prosperity.
In 2014, after five years of grant making, the MSFF went through a strategic review process. As a direct result of this review, the Foundation’s Trustees decided to channel all funding through three new programmes: Trustee Awards, Strategic Partnerships, and Arab Women Filmmakers. Through these programmes, the Foundation will continue to support a mix of charities and social enterprises striving to make our world a better, and more just, place for all of us.
The MSFF’s Trustee Awards are small to medium-sized grants designed to support charities and social enterprises that are known to our Trustees and that work in at least one of our four focus areas: healthcare, education, international development, and arts & culture.
The Foundation’s Strategic Partnership programme supports a select group of organisations at the major gifts level. In addition to providing philanthropic support, the programme has been designed to allow the Foundation to leverage its networks and other assets to help our partners better meet their objectives.
At this time, MSFF is not accepting unsolicited requests for funding.
